Letters of John von Neumann, one of the main pioneers of the computer, whose intelligence has been compared to Einstein’s, are extremely rare and this one is a particularly significant example, encouraging the young scientist Dr. Goodall: “…I am exceedingly glad to learn that you have obtained a Leverhulme fellowship…”.  1 p.
