Highly informative autograph letter signed in French, dated 5 2 34 by the French painter. As president of the Société des artistes indépendants, Signac, preparing the 50th anniversary of the Société and its 45th exhibition which proved to be his last, addresses the Director of the exhibition: “…Information prise: Mr. [Albert] Sarraut [1872-1962, art appreciator]ne possède que des aquarelles. Inutile donc de le déranger. Mais il me parait indispensable que vous vous adressiez à Mr. Felix Fénéon [1861-1844, critique d’art] dont vous connaissez le role important dans l’art et la litterature de ce temps – C’est un homme exquis que vous serez heureux de connaitre. Il a une superbe collection. Il possède des Signac et demeure 10 Avenue de l’Opéra. Cet après midi je vais …les titres exacts chez Mr. Gaston Lévy [1902-1990, French pediatrician] (…) Je me tiens prêt à livrer le 9 a Md. Cherme, mes oeuvres – une partie sera prise 10 rue de l’Abbaye Paris 6°-, une autre à mon atelier 14 rue La Fontaine Paris 16°-….”. 3 pp. In-4.
