Autograph letter signed, dated "8 fr. an 8 [28.11.1798]" by the French physician. Bichat addresses a professor sending: "...un exemplaire de mon traité de membranes. Veuillez le presenter à la Société...". Because of his early death Bichat’s autograph is a legendary rarity among major 19th century scientists and this is an important letter forwarding one of his most important works.
