Autograph draft with additions and corrections of an article title "Valentina et la promotion de la femme" by the French philosopher and writer: "...Une femme dans le cosmos. Quel triomphe pour les femmes! On dit les uns: désormais il n'y a plus de distance entre les homme et elles. Mais non, ils ont répondu qu’ils tiennent l’infériorité féminine pour un dogme; ça prouve simplement que 'importe qui peut être cosmonaute...". After the triumph of Russian cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, who became the first woman in space when she flew her Vostok 6 spacecraft on June 16, 1963, Beauvoir insisted on providing women with an opportunity. She highlighted the low representation of French women in liberal professions and the workforce in general. Beauvoir attributed this situation to limited ambitions, presumptions related to marriage, male solidarity, the burdens of motherhood, and domestic responsibilities. An important manuscript of the main philosopher of feminism and one of the most prominent woman of her days. 14 pp. In-4. Included: typed draft of the same work. 12 pp. In-4.
