Typed letter signed with an autograph correction, dated "June 23, 1949" by the  legendary American-Hungarian mathematician. Letters of John von Neumann, one of the main pioneers of computer, whose intelligence has been compared to Einstein’s, are extremely rare and this one is a particularly significant example, encouraging the young scientist Dr. Goodall: "...I am exceedingly glad to learn that you have obtained a Leverhulme fellowship...".  1 p.
