Front of an envelope (applied on paper) with autograph address by the great Russian playwright. Included: autograph letter signed by the Russian actress, Olga Knipper, wife of Anton Chekhov. To a gentleman: "Je vous envoie le bout d'une vieille enveloppe adressée par Ant. Tchekoff dans l'armée de la Manjouria pendant la guerre avec le Japon du 1904...". Any autograph by Chekhov are particularly rare and this example sent by his wife to an admirer shortly after his death is particularly moving.
