SCIENCE AND MEDICINE - FOREL Auguste (1848 - 1931) - Autograph letter signed

Studied at the University of Zurich, then took the exams in Lausanne where, after failing the first time, he passed, but was refused the post of psychiatrist at Cery. He then went to Munich and became a privatdocent in 1877. In 1878 he undertook an expedition to Colombia, but gave up when his companion died. In 1879, he became professor of psychiatry at the University of Zurich. In 1889, he took up the fight against alcoholism. He was undoubtedly one of our country's greatest psychiatrists.
