SCIENCE AND MEDICINE - BERTHELOT Marcelin (1827 - 1907) - Autograph letter signed

Professor at the Collège de France, senator, minister of public education and then of foreign affairs, he devoted his research activities to organic chemistry, studied the quantities of heat involved in reactions (thermochemistry), and took part in the development of smokeless explosives. He opposed the use of atomic notation. Académie des sciences 1873 and Académie française 1901.
Autograph letter signed 20.07.1897, concerning a publication: "... tout ce que je pourrais faire pour vous être agréable, ce serait de réunir la dernière lettre - ... - pour la prochaine publication de la suite de la correspondance…”.
