HISTORY - NOAILLES Philippe de (1715 - 1794) - Autograph letter signed

He began his military career at the age of 14, distinguishing himself by his bravery and cold-bloodedness. He was appointed Marshal of France without ever having commanded a major army. Caught up in the alleged prison conspiracy, he was sentenced to death and guillotined in Paris on June 27, 1794.
Letter signed, dated Noailles, 22.11.1774: "…on donne seulement une gratification pour la cassette de sa Majesté…”.
