HISTORY - SAXE Hermann (1696 - 1750) - Letter signed

Illegitimate son of Augustus II of Poland, he was recognized by his father in 1911. He knew two things: the army and women. In 1721, he separated from his wife and his father sent him to France. His military successes led to his appointment as Lieutenant General by Louis XV. In 1745, he conquered Belgium with his victories at Fontenoy, and was George Sand's great-grandfather.
Letter signed, dated Paris, 22.01.1747 to Comte de Saint Germain: "…être plus sensible que je le suis au compliment que vous avez eu la bonté de me faire sur la nouvelle grâce que le Roy m'a accordé…". 1 p. In-folio.
