Studied violin with his father. At the age of twelve, he devoted himself to the piano. He studied law and obtained a doctorate in Saint Petersburg. In 1908, he went to Vienna to study piano. He was awarded first prize for piano in St Petersburg in 1911. He taught at the conservatoire in Kiev and then in Warsaw. He was one of the best interpreters of Chopin. In 1939, he came to Morges to study with Paderewski.
Typed letter signed, dated Morges 26.07.1941 to Paul Langer: "...toute cette affection et cette compréhension que je sens autour de moi m'est très sensible…”.
