Studied piano at the Neuchâtel Conservatoire. In 1958 he was awarded 1st prize by the Jeunesses Musicales de Suisse and in 1963 a virtuosity prize, followed by many other distinctions which enabled him to obtain numerous engagements in Europe and Japan.
