Conductor, composer and writer. German father, Spanish mother, naturalised French in 1909. He entered the Paris Conservatoire in 1885. With Daudet and Verlaine, he wrote the songs that made him famous. In 1899, he became a music critic. He worked with Pierre Loti and Sacha Guitry. In 1945, he became director of the Paris Opera. Knight of the Legion of Honour. Autograph letter signed "Reynaldo Hahn" to a writer friend, (Paris) p.1/2 in-8°. Beautiful piece. While passing through Paris, he finds his correspondent's "Stories", takes them eagerly to dive in with fury and find, Reynaldo Hahn hopes, ".. l'oubli de beaucoup de soucis que j'ai en ce moment,.”
