LITERATURE - MURRAY Louis (1926 - 2016) - Signed printed photograph

In 1946, living in San Francisco, he joined the summer session at Colorado College where he met Alwin Nikolais. In 1949, he returned to New York and obtained a degree in drama from the university. Associated with Nikolais, Louis became a partner in the evolution of an ascetic and pedagogical technique that today bears their name: the Nikolais/Louis technique. In 2006, he received the American Dance Festival Award for lifetime achievement.
