LITERATURE - HAUPTMANN Gerhart (1862 - 1946) - Card signed

Secondary school in Breslau, then trained as a farmer with an uncle. He disliked country life and returned to Breslau, where he began training as a sculptor. Later, he studied at the University of Jena, spent two years in Italy and, in 1885, took up literature. In 1912, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.
