LITERATURE - MARMONTEL Jean-François (1723 - 1799) - Autograph letter signed

In 1735, he joined the Jesuits and became a tutor to earn a living. He won a poetry prize in 1744. In 1763, he was elected to the Académie Française and in 1783 he was appointed historiographer of buildings.
