LITERATURE - LEGOUVE Ernest (1807 - 1903) - Autograph letter signed

At the age of 20, he won the poetry prize at the Académie. In 1881, he was director of studies at the Ecole normale de Sèvres and general inspector of public education. In 1885 he was elected to the Académie. In 1896, as director and dean of the Académie, he was asked to receive Tsar Nicholas II.
