LITERATURE - HUGO Victor (1802 - 1885) - Autograph letter signed

Son of a Napoleonic general, he first followed his father on his campaigns. At the age of eleven he joined his mother in Paris. At 17, he was noticed by the Académie where he was elected in 1841. Because of his political opinions, he had to go into exile in 1851. He returned to Paris under the Third Republic.
