Novelist, playwright, lawyer, diplomat. He contributed to most of the literary journals, published analytical novels and gave plays. Admitted to the Académie française in 1900. Autograph letter signed, 1 p. in-4: "... je te féliciterai de ton article, très bien venu, dans le Figaro de samedi...Je t'aurais remercié plus tôt si je n'avais dans l'épuisement de travailler à la procréation de quatre immortels en huit jours. Je n'ai eu que Capus qui ne fût pas viable parmi mes votés..".
