Novelist and playwright, he was the first to be elected to the Académie Française as a novelist in 1862. He was a familiar figure at Les Tuileries and the Empress came to attend his reception. Signed autograph manuscript. “Octave Feuillet”, Compiègne, November 23, 1864, 7 pp in-4°. Beautiful rare piece of this importance. Manuscript of a comedy in 1 act interspersed with verses: .“ Personnages: Le Préfet - Le Maire - Un voyageur”. A small contemporary handwritten note attached indicates that this piece is unpublished.
