LITERATURE - DESCHAMPS Emile (1791 - 1871) - Autograph letter signed

With a taste for foreign literature, he translated German, English and Italian texts. Together with Hugo, Vigny and Nodier, he founded La Muse Française, which played a leading role in the French Romantic movement. He made his mark on the theatre with his dual skills as a poet and translator.
