Born into a humble Christian family in the Artois region of France, he knew the vanity of pride and anger, hence his split between mysticism and revolt, his admiration for Maurras and his condemnation of Franco. The most important thing for him was to fight against all the obstacles that stand in the way of God: money, lies, iniquity, and so on.
