In 1906, after the Russo-Japanese War, he joined the Preobrazhensky Guards Regiment, where he was promoted to colonel. In November 1918, he was promoted to the rank of general. In 1924, after the Crimean War, he emigrated to Paris, where he headed the General Union of Russian Combatants. In January 1930, he was kidnapped and transported to Russia. It seems he died en route.
Typed letter signed and dated Paris, 18.06.1929 to the Swiss pastor Rev. F. Terrisse: "…il faudrait savoir non seulement le No de sa batterie, mais aussi le No. de sa Brigade. Je vous prie de bien vouloir me donner ce renseignement".
