MIKOLAJCZYK Stanislaw Prime Minister Poland
(Holsterhausen, 1901 - Washington, 1966). In 1939, when Poland was invaded by the German army, he fled to London, where he set up a Polish government in exile. He agreed to return to Poland and was elected Prime Minister.
Typed letter signed and dated Saturday, 22.11.1947 to Paul Langer: "… Paderewski avec lequel j'avais l'honneur de collaborer étroitement…".

KOPANSKI Stanislaw General Poland
(Saint Petersburg, 1895 - London, 1976). His training in civil engineering was interrupted by the First World War. In 1943, he was appointed Chief of Staff of the Supreme Command of the Polish Armed Forces in London. On May 21, 1946, together with General Anders, he took part in a Foreign Office meeting to liquidate the Polish armed forces.

ANDERS Wladyslaw General Poland
(Blonie, near Warsaw, 1892 - London, 1970). General in 1936, he fought in 1939 and was captured by the Russians. Interned in Moscow, he was released to take command of the Polish forces he formed in the USSR in 1941-42. He fought in Africa against the Afrikakorps, then in Italy, and in 1945 was placed in command of Polish forces on the Western Front.
