HISTORY - DUDLEY-MANN Ambrose (1801 - 1889) - Autograph letter signed

Studied at the American Military Academy, which he left without completing to become consul in Bremen. He negotiated several trade treaties. In 1850, he was US Minister to Switzerland, then returned to the USA as Under-Secretary of State. At the end of his life, he settled in France and wrote his memoirs.
