HISTORY - SCHNEIDER Max Frank (1896 - 1975) - Signed printed photograph

In 1917, he joined the army reserve corps as an aviation lieutenant. He was an instructor at Fort Worth and after the war became a pilot. He held various positions in communications and meteorology. In 1942, he commanded the 12th Air Force in North Africa. In 1943 he returned to the USA, from where he commanded all the air forces in the Mediterranean. In 1946 he was transferred to Wiesbaden where he commanded the 9th Air Force and in 1950 he returned to the USA as Inspector-General.
