HISTORY - CLARK Mark Wayne (1896 - 1984) - Photograph with autograph dedication signed ; Typed letter signed

Educated at West Point, he served in France during the First World War. During the Second World War, before the Allies invaded North Africa, he made a secret and dangerous trip to Algeria with a submarine to check the risks of a landing. In 1943, he led the 5th Army in Italy. In 1945, he was head of the occupation forces in Austria. In 1953, as commander-in-chief of the UN forces, he had the armistice signed between North and South Korea.
