HISTORY - BRADLEY Omar Nelson (1893 - 1981) - Signed printed photograph

He distinguished himself in 1943 in the Tunisian and Sicilian campaigns. In 1944, he commanded the American forces that landed in Normandy, leading them first to Brittany, then from the Seine to the Rhine and Elbe, where he established contact with the Russians. Chief of Staff of the Army in 1948, he served until his retirement in 1953 as Chairman of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the three services and as US Permanent Representative to the Defence Committee of the Atlantic Pact.
