University of Philadelphia, then US Naval Academy in Annapolis in 1910. Graduated in 1914. Promoted to Lieutenant and Vice-Admiral in 1945. Graduated from MIT in 1920 with a Master’s degree in naval architecture. He retired on 01.11.1947.
