HISTORY - VANSITTART Robert Gilbert (1881 - 1957) - Typed letter signed

After studying at Eton, he entered the diplomatic service as Private Secretary to the Prime Minister, then as Under-Secretary of State and finally as Chief Diplomatic Adviser to the Government. He warned the British government of Germany's military growth and urged Britain to rearm.
