HISTORY - BEVIN Ernest (1881 - 1951) - Signed printed photograph

President of the General Council of Trade Unions, he joined Churchill's coalition government in 1940 as Labour Minister. He was Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs from 1945 to 1951. He helped push through the Marshall Plan and played an important role in the creation of NATO.
