HISTORY - DEMPSEY Miles Christopher (1896 - 1969) - Signed printed photograph

He fought in both world wars. In 1942, he was with Montgomery in North Africa, then in Italy, and took part in the Normandy landings in June 1944. He crossed Belgium and Germany, crossing the Rhine and working his way up to Bremen, Hamburg and Kiel as far as the Danish border. After the war, he served in South-East Asia and the Middle East. He was knighted in 1944 and retired in 1947.
