Lot 345 · The Langer Collection · 29 April 2024
He had to face up to the Turkish peril and Louis XIV's policy of territorial expansion. He succeeded, not without difficulty, in making the Austrian monarchy respected as a great power.
Autograph letter signed, dated 03.12.1670 to the Procurat Fiscale Philip Ludwig Arbogast. Leopold commissioned Frantz Wilhelm Boyner to lodge a complaint against Johann von der Bruggeney, who had sold property belonging to him. Despite the efforts of lawyer Johann Adolphe Saurmann, the High Court in Speyer did not convict the accused. The emperor therefore instructed the tax procurator to lodge an appeal. Signature faded.
