Seventh King of Prussia (1861-1888) and first German Emperor (1871-1888). The son of Frederick William III, he was regent on behalf of his brother Frederick William IV, whom he succeeded in 1861. He chose Bismarck as Chancellor who, with his support, achieved German unity.
Laissez-passer issued to the Prussian Consul in Havre de Grâce, Franz Langer. Letterhead with calligraphic initials and embossed stamp on the first page. Dated Berlin, 18.01.1864. Signed "Wilhelm".
