Rudimentary education. He renovated the administration, encouraged the economy and improved agriculture (he abolished serfdom). But it was on the army that he focused his main efforts; it was disproportionately large, but formed the basis of his authority. He proved to be the true architect of Prussian power. He was King of Prussia from 1713. Letter signed and dated Berlin, 30.04.1718 to François de Langes de Lubières: "…afin que ce prince oblige le dit Jillier à la restitution de l'écrit qu'il a entre ses mains…”. In 1702, de Langes entered the service of Prussia as a major general. King Frederick I of Prussia is one of the heirs of William III. In Berlin, François de Langes de Lubières took up the cause of his Protestant compatriots and chaired the integration commission in Berlin. He also headed a hospice for his needy compatriots for several years. In 1714, he was decorated with the Order of Generosity. The same year, on June 28, he was appointed commander of the Prussian troops in Neuchâtel. In 1717, he formally received the title of governor during a trip to Berlin. He retained this last position until his death, without playing a very active role.
