HISTORY - CHEVREY RAMEAU Charles Victor (1809 - 1887) - Autograph letter signed

After studying law in Paris, he became a lawyer in 1830. A Versailles town councillor in 1846, he became Mayor in 1870. It was he who managed the occupation of the town during the Prussian occupation (1870-71) and who received William I and Bismarck, then Adolphe Thiers and Jules Grévy after the Armistice.
Autograph letter signed, dated Versailles, 21.01.1879 "… me faire adresser la brochure concernant l'organisation du Cercle Franklin …".
