Description
Appointed resident of France in Tunisia in 1882, then resident general in 1885, he organised the protectorate there. Ambassador to London (1898-1920), he promoted the entente cordiale and the Anglo-Russian rapprochement of 1907.
Autograph letter signed, dated 08.11.1910 to Paul Langer Senior: “…je prends note de votre désir de recevoir la légion d’honneur…”. Included: Autograph letter by Paul Langer.
