HISTORY - ALLAIN-TARGE François Henri René (1832 - 1902) - Autograph letter signed

In 1861, he was deputy imperial prosecutor in Angers. A deputy for the Seine, he was appointed prefect of Maine-et-Loire on 05.09.1870. Along with Gambetta, he was one of the founders of the radical democrat party during the Second Empire, and together they founded the newspaper "La République Française". He was Minister of Finance under Gambetta, then Minister of the Interior.
