Description

Trained as a colonial infantryman at Saint-Cyr. From 1932 to 1936 he served in the Far East, then in Chad. He took Brazaville in 1940. He fought in Eritrea, then Syria. Wounded, he had to have his right leg amputated. In 1942, de Gaulle called him to London, then Algiers. In 1950 he left the army because of his injuries and took up management positions in industry.
Autograph letter signed, dated 17.01.1922 ” … Vous nous avez rendu de biens précieux services au cours de la rude et si longue campagne …”. 1 p. ¼.
