HISTORY - LARMINAT René Marie Edgar de (1895 - 1962) - Signed printed photograph

A supporter of General de Gaulle, he was High Commissioner for Free French Africa from 1940-41 and campaigned in Tripolitania in 1942, in Italy in 1943, took part in the Provence landings in 1944 and commanded the FFI in the west of France in 1944-45. Appointed President of the Military Court of Justice in 1962, he committed suicide shortly afterwards.
