HISTORY - NIVELLE Robert Georges (1856 - 1924) - Autograph letter signed
Description
He graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique in 1878. He served in Indochina, Algeria and China. He was promoted to brigadier general at the same time as Pétain, whom he succeeded on 19.04.1916. His mistakes led to him being disgraced in 1917 and sent to North Africa. Autograph letter signed, dated Paris, 06.07.1922: “Je me suis encore occupé de votre désir de représentations dans la région Rhénane…”.
