HISTORY - LAMORICIERE Christophe Louis (1806 - 1865) - Autograph letter signed

In 1830, he was sent to Algeria, where he organised the Zouave corps. In 1848, he took part in the revolt against Louis-Philippe. Exiled to Rome, in 1859 he became commander of the Pope's army but lost the battle of Castelfidardo against the Italian army.
