He began his career in the army of the West. Lieutenant in 1795 and aide-de-camp to Grouchy, he was part of the Irish expedition in 1797 before becoming Murat's aide-de-camp. He joined the Grande Armée and became a general in 1805. He was sent to Spain, where he was shot in the forehead during a cavalry charge.
Document signed "à agts Colbert" as colonel of the horse hunters. Manuscript also signed by the members of the Board of Directors of this regiment (4 signatories) s.l.n.d. (around 1800), I p. in folio. very beautiful, very rare piece, Certificate of good conduct for Second Lieutenant Michauld, aide-de-camp to General Taponnier.
