He was one of the most prestigious cavalrymen of the Grande Armée. Aide-de-camp to Kellermann, he captured an Austrian battalion at Rivoli and distinguished himself at Stettin, then in Spain.
Documentt signed "Le chef de Bde C. Lasalle" twice, as colonel of the 10th hussar regiment. Manuscript also signed by General Victor, Emmanuel Leclerc (1772 - died in Santo Domingo 1802; brother-in-law of Napoleon I through his marriage to Pauline Bonaparte), as commander-in-chief of the Army sent to the aid of the Spanish against the Portuguese in 1801 ; Salamanca, 30 Messidor Year IX (19) July 1801), 2 pp. in folio, revolutionary vignette and framed with printed flags. Beautiful, very rare piece. Reform leave for citizen François Colas of the 10th hussars, due to infirmities.
