HISTORY - EBLE Jean-Baptiste (1758 - 1812) - Letter signed

Entered the army in 1767 as an infantryman, gunner in the Auxerre regiment in 1773, promoted to lieutenant in 1785 and general of artillery in 1795. He saved the army with his pontonniers at the crossing of the Berezina. He was Minister of War in the Kingdom of Westphalia from 1808 to 1810.
Letter signed Anspach, 07.06.1806 to Marshal Jean-Baptiste Jules Bernadotte: "…indépendamment de ses talents, de son zèle et de sa probité, tient une conduite qui, dans toutes les circonstances fait preuve de délicatesse et de bonne éducation”.
