Engineer school at Mezières. Commander of the Engineers in the Armée du Nord, he was appointed Conseiller d'Etat in 1799 and Minister of War in 1802. Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour. Napoleon appointed him First Inspector General of Engineering in 1808 and Governor of the Ecole Polytechnique in 1814. He was made a peer of France the same year. Letter signed "Dejean" with a signed autograph post scriptum.
