HISTORY - DUMANOIR Louis-Aimé Cosmao (1783 - 1864) - Autograph letter signed

At the age of 13, he embarked as a novice on the Malabar. In 1799 he was admitted to the Ecole Polytechnique, graduating in 1801. His life was closely linked to that of his uncle, Admiral Cosmao Kerjulien. He distinguished himself at Trafalgar.
Autograph letter signed 16.04.1850 to AT: "… mieux que personne, tu connais mes habitudes : pendant deux, quatre, six mois, je ne fais rien, je ne touche pas à une plume …”. 4 pp. In-8.
