Napoleon called him Le Brave des Braves. He was involved in the political and military organization of Switzerland. In 1804, he was made Marshal of the Empire. Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor. He took part in the Russian campaign. His participation at Waterloo was unfortunate. He was sentenced to death and executed on 07.12.1815.
Document signed, with some autograph words, dated Kaiserheim, 15 Thermidor an 8 (03.08.1800) for the rank of second lieutenant by Sergeant Pierre Charrier of the 54th Infantry Regiment. Also signed by future general Louis-Prix Varé (1766-1807) and general Nicolas Ernault (1757-1809). Armée du Rhin - Aile Gauche - Division Ney - 54 1/2 Brigade. Signed "Vu par le général de Division" ./. Ney”. Very fine document.
