Paul Claudel (Villeneuve-sur-Fère, 1868 – Paris, 1955)Autograph letter signed "P. Claudel", dated Frankfurt ab Mein, October 18, 1911, by the French poet, playwright, and diplomat, to Carlos Larronde. Responding to his correspondent who solicits "un inédit", he can only propose Hymns which seem to him of no interest to Larronde’s audience. However, he adds "je vous envoie mon Chemin de croix qui a paru dans la Revue belge totalement ignorée en France Durendal. Peut-être y trouverez-vous qqch. à lire…". Carlos Larronde was one of the most important figures on French radio in the period before the Second World War. He organized poetic meetings, art exhibitions and performances of texts by Paul Claudel, Émile Verhaeren, by Stéphane Mallarmé, by Francis Vielé-Griffin, by André Gide, by Paul Fort and by Saint-Pol-Roux.1 p. in-8°.
