(Napoleonica) Pierre-Augustin Hulin (Paris 1758 - ib. 1841)Two autograph letters signed , written during the Italian Campaign, by a general, who served in the Swiss Guards, marched on the Bastille in 1789 and presided over the military commission that condemned the Duke of Enghien to death in 1804. He was the Governor of Paris during the Hundred Days. The first dated Milan, 11 Pluviôse an 6 (January 31, 1798), addressed to the commander of hussars company in Milan. 1 page, in-8, on letterhead. The second, dated Milan 11 Messidor an 8 (June 30, 1800) to Abbot Amoretti, in which, at Masséna's request, he informs him that he must provide "la carte d'Italie de Zannoni, en 4 feuilles...". Included: an autograph letter signed, dated Milan le 17 Nivôse an 6 (January 6, 1798) by aide-de-camp of General Hulin, requesting the forwarding of the attached letters (1 page, in-8, on letterhead); and a printed letter in the name of General Hulin, dated Milan 1st Brumaire an 6 (October 22, 1797), an intersting letter-manifesto specifying that, by order of the Directory, all Milanese who are not present at the celebrations in honor of the company of hussars will be declared enemies of the Homeland, arrested and their assets wiil be confiscated (1 page, in-4, on the Captain Arese letterhead). Humidity stains. Losses at the margins which do not affect the text.
